Martin HopkinsWith 30 years of experience in the field of personal finance, including 17 years at the financial law firm he founded in his native South Africa, Hopkins Investment Management LLC President Martin Hopkins believes in the power of goals. He’s worked hard to achieve them for himself, and his ability to succeed has been tied to his clients’ successes. A Certified Financial Planner® as well as an attorney, Martin earned his LLB and a bachelor of commerce degree from the prestigious University of Natal in Pietermartizburg, South Africa. He and his wife, Lyn, came to the U.S. in 1996. After first settling in Princeton, N.J., and later moving to Fairfax, Va., they were soon drawn by the nautical charm and history of Annapolis, Md. In 2006, Martin and Lyn planted their roots even deeper when they became U.S. citizens. An avid boater, Martin loves the charm of Maryland’s state capital and discovering the treasures of the small town. Today, the Hopkins Investment Management offices are headquartered in the heart of the Annapolis Historic District. Martin is a well-known and respected member of the investment community and serves on the board of the Northeast Division of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA). He also shares his expertise on community association investment and financial matters as a member of the Community Associations Institute. At home in Annapolis, Martin is a member of the local chapter of the United States Power Squadrons, an organization devoted to safe boating and educational programs, the Marine Trawler Owners Association and the Annapolis Maritime Museum. He is also an active leader in Church of the Nations International. |
